As the days go by....

So quite a few days have past since we moved into our little doll house, like almost two years of days at the end of September!! What, what!? Where does the time go, well, my friends...it goes something like this:

While we haven't posted like I wanted us to in the beginning that's ok as we didn't do as much as I wanted to have done to the house either. Stuff has gotten done, the laundry room was made over (looks awesome!), furniture hunts ensued and knick knacks were perused and purchased.

However, we feel like nothing has been done now for long enough - that a renewed sense of drive to get this house rolling has kick started in both our minds. I also made a 4 page to do list - scary stuff - and it will cost a lot of money too.

I also feel like I spent a lot of time just thinking, dreaming, reading, pinning, mood boarding, etc. to understand exactly what I/we wanted the house to look like when we are done...which will be pretty darn cool and hopefully make people go: "Holy Chic!" when they walk through the front door.

The next few posts will be about what our apartment looked like and how some of those items were reused in the new house and some will live in the dungeon aka our basement forever...just trying to fix the design mistakes of the past. And of course, the new house when we first moved in...looking forward to sharing this ride with you all!

We also need to trim the bushes and front tree!

Home Ownership, Oh MY!

Jon & I are excited to share and officially announce that we are moving to Madison, New Jersey!

Life is change. The chapters are always turning whether we know it or not.

After 4+ years of renting in Flushing, Queens (inclusive of a year of house hunting), we are trading in apartment living, 20 minute commutes and NYC access via cab rides at 4am (a personal fave) for the suburbs and front porch sitting of Madison, New Jersey. (Reminds me of a country song that Jon liked in college, however, its side porch sitting for us in the new home but it didn’t sound as good!)

YES, we are moving to that New Jersey recently known for hair spray, acid wash jeans, Bon Jovi, The Jersey Shore (GTL) and so much more. It will now be known as the place where Jess and Jon live! The whole thing is crazy and overwhelming but we are supremely psyched to have our own little doll house. (Jon has called dibs on the walk-up attic.)

17 more days until closing and it’s time to get serious as our world is about to change in a gargantuan sized way as we go from a 1 bedroom apartment to a WHOLE HOUSE!!!

It’s going to be fun decorating and we want to share the process with our friends and family near and far as we turn this house into a Home….a little glam, a little goth (just like the wedding) but certainly a sweet little home to call our very own!
